“Destiny/I Am A Rock”
Question: how do you know your strength if it has never been tested? I made this song as an ode to my strength! As so many things were changing in this year, I got to see God’s strength become more apparent and greater in my life.
“Destiny/I Am A Rock” was my second release. I felt like I was still chiseling away with comfortability in regard to transitioning into my artistic individuality as a singer-songwriter.
I am a rock. I wanted the photoshoot to resemble that of a strong black woman. Identifying with culture, yet again, an African woman came to mind.
As I designed and made my outfit, the strength of African women influenced my design choice. From the hair & makeup, to the jewelry, down to color and design details of the garment, I wanted everything to clearly say strength accompanied by serenity and peace.
Similiar to "The Paradigm", in 'Destiny/I Am A Rock', I discuss staying true to your destiny and not letting outside voices and opinions dictate your path. It's important to navigate the gap between who you are and who others want you to be. Choose wisely the voices you listen to on your journey.
